Since 2010, Katie Meyer has been the Manager of Renaissance Covington, Inc., a 501(c)3 non-profit aimed at revitalization of downtown Covington. In this role she oversees Make Covington Pop, RoeblingFest, the Covington Farmers Market, and a variety of other programs and projects designed to promote the area as well as recruit and retain businesses.
In addition to Renaissance Covington, Katie is one of three owners of a local music bar in Covington called Pike Street Lounge. Pike Street Lounge opened in 2012 and in 2013 was named 5th Best New Bar by Cincinnati Citybeat, lining up against venues like the Moerlein House and Southgate House Revival.
Katie is the Co-Chair of the Board of Directors of the Kentucky Foundation for Women, based in Louisville. She is also Treasurer for Northern Kentucky Fairness, a 501(c)3 volunteer organization that conducts the annual NKY Pride Festival and advocates for fairness in local policies and schools.
Before returning to Covington in 2010, Katie worked for two years as a Performance Analyst at Kentucky Housing Corporation in Frankfort. In 2007, Katie taught English for a year in Bogota, Colombia, and Quito, Ecuador, and in 2006 worked as a logistical coordinator for the Huairou Commission at the World Urban Forum in Vancouver, B.C.
Katie earned her M.S. in Urban Policy Analysis and Management from The New School in New York City. She received her undergraduate B.A. in Political Science and Journalism from the University of Kentucky. A native of Covington, she graduated from Covington Latin School in 2000.
