The Cincinnati Enquirer reported that St. Elizabeth Healthcare is providing trailers for testing for those suspected of having the CoronaVirus at its four emergency departments. The latest screening locations for people who might have the novel coronavirus illness COVID-19 are trailers parked outside four of St. Elizabeth Healthcare's emergency departments.

They are not for everyone, hospital officials say. Only the patients with symptoms (and only some of them) may get tested. Although the FDA has relaxed rules about diagnostic-test development for the illness, there are too few tests for everyone to get one, health officials and medical providers say.

Businesses that have new N-95 masks and would like to donate to St. Elizabeth Healthcare, should call Edgewood Volunteer Services at (859) 301-2140 to arrange a drop-off time at our Edgewood hospital loading dock at 1 Medical Village Drive, Edgewood, KY 41017. As you can imagine, we are using personal protective equipment (PPE) at a pace never before seen, so we sincerely appreciate your generosity.

The Northern Kentucky Convention Center in Covington transformed into a makeshift homeless shelter over the weekend, offering a place to stay for people who would otherwise be living on the streets during the COVID-19 pandemic. The coalition staffing or providing supplies to the convention center shelter includes the Emergency Shelter of Northern Kentucky, Welcome House, Brighton Center, Be Concerned, The Parish Kitchen, Lords Gym Ministries, Fairhaven Rescue Mission and Cornerstone Church. The convention center shelter is not taking donations of clothing or other items at this time, but financial contributions may be made to the nonprofit organizations.

The Covington Business Council is teaming up with HR Elements to various topics that have developed from the COVID-19 outbreak. Our first virtual HR Coffee Chat will take place on Thursday, March 26 from 10:00 am – 10:30 am about HR and employment and labor laws.  Details here.

We have all adjusted our work environments to cope in this challenging atmosphere.  Several members are offering webinars, including Betsy Kent's Virtual Elevator Speech workshop here. If you are having difficulty and need assistance, please reach out to Pat Frew at pfrew@cbcky.com.
